What is a wireless home security system?

A security system is a group (two or more items) of devices, such as several wireless video cameras and a DVR visual, which are used to monitor different assets (a residential home, a store or an office).
Digital video security systems enable you to watch over your family without even getting out of bed. A wireless home security system usually includes wireless video cameras and a receiver and it is designed to increase the overall sense of security. Top of the line digital video security systems have infrared abilities so they can also operate at nighttime.

About Infrared

Infra red light cannot be seen but can be detected. Objects that generate heat also generate infrared radiation and those objects include animals and the human body.
Infrared light has a range of wavelengths, just like visible light has wavelengths that range from red light to violet. The longer, far infrared wavelengths are about the size of a pin head and the shorter, near infrared ones are the size of cells, or even smaller.

How can we "see" using Infrared?
Since the source of infrared is heat, any object which has a temperature releases infrared. The warmer the object, the more infrared radiation it releases. This radiation (energy), might be invisible to the naked eye, but can be detected by certain electronic devices.

Night vision

One of the most popular uses for infrared is "night vision": It enable the human eye to see even when there is insufficient visible light. Wireless video cameras that use infrared to "see" in the darkness, actually detect differences in temperature, and assign different colors (or brightness) to them when turning them into an image on a screen. While doing so they provide the viewer with a picture that his eyes can "read".
Simple infrared sensors were used as early as World War 2 by British, American and German snipers as night vision aids.

Uses for infrared
Uses for infra red are highly varied and include baby monitors, military equipment, motion detectors, wireless video cameras, advanced virtual technologies, wireless home security system and digital video security monitors.

What is a servo motor?

Servo is a device with an output shaft that can be moved to specific angular positions by sending a simple coded signal. As long as the coded signal exists on the input line, the servo will keep the angular position of the shaft. As the coded signal changes, the angular position of the shaft changes. Among others, servos are also used in radio control airplanes to control the position of wing flaps, RC cars (to turn the wheels), wireless home security systems, wireless video cameras, and of course, in robots.
A servo motor is a combination of a DC motor (a common small and powerful motor), a shaft position sensor and a feedback circuit.

The sensor allows the control circuitry to monitor the angle of the servo motor. If the shaft is at the correct angle, then the motor shuts off. If the sensor finds that the angle is incorrect, it will turn the motor until the angle is correct.
A normal servo is mechanically incapable of turning further than 180 degrees. The angle is determined by the pulse duration that is applied every 20 milliseconds. The frequency of this pulse corresponds to certain angles, ranging from 0° to 180°.
If the Servo's shaft needs to turn a large distance, the motor will run at full power. If it needs to turn only a small way, the motor will run slower. This is called proportional control.
Servo motors are used in the 2P Monitors digital video security systems to control the movement function in the wireless video cameras (that can be tilted from afar), and are integrated in 2P wireless home security system.

CCTV

Closed-circuit television (CCTV) is the use of wired or wireless video cameras to transmit visual signals to a specific set of monitors (to a limited varied range). It is different from regular television because the signal is not transmitted openly. CCTV is used for surveillance in stores, banks, casinos and airports and is used for monitoring processes in locations which are considered dangerous for human beings.

CCTV against crime
Nowadays, CCTV is simple and inexpensive enough to be integrated in any wired or wireless home security system and in any digital video security systems. CCTV wireless infrared camera (like the cameras in 2P Security Set) has the added advantage of being able to transmit a clear picture during nighttime. Some CCTV includes controllable video cameras which have the ability to scan larger areas (because they can be moved in different directions from afar, again: Ability that 2P security cameras also have). Several crimes have been solved by using digital video security systems and they are commonly used to track movements of missing children.
