What are "2P Monitors"?

2P Monitors are a line of high-tech monitoring systems that combine video technology and audio transmission. Our user friendly baby monitors transmit both audial and visual information to mobile receivers and allow parents to watch over their little ones during all hours of the day and night.
Our security systems can be used for business monitoring, store security, or for back yard and front door security to help you feel completely safe in your own home.

Home is a place of safety and there is no reason why any of us should ever feel fearful while being inside our own home. Wireless video security cameras provide you with a simple solution for how to increase your overall sense of safety. During day time our security system allows you to monitor your house, your office, your car dealership or your store – so that you know what is going on at all times. During night time our home nightvision camera allows you to monitor the entire house – the garden, the children's room, the kitchen and the living room. Sometime you feel that a regular alarm is simply not enough, but a standard residential video security system can cost thousands of dollars. 2P Monitors will provide you with that extra safety needed, and for a fraction of the cost.

What is a security video system?

A security video system is a group (two or more items) of devices, such as several wireless video security cameras and a DVR visual, which are used to prevent crime. It monitors specific locations in a home or office, and can either work as a stand alone security system or as part of a pre-existing security system. A video security system that includes a home nightvision camera also provides its user with a clear picture during nighttime.

    Answers

  • I've placed one of my wireless video security cameras outdoors and the image on my screen looks unclear and foggy – what's wrong?
This problem is usually caused by tiny water droplets that condensed from the air (mainly at night) onto cool surfaces. When temperature drops, dew accumulates on the face of the camera, (just like a window of a car that's parked outside in the winter), and the image turns "foggy". To solve this problem, try putting the camera under an awning of your home or a roof rack.

  • How many cameras come in a security set?
Our set has between 1 and 3 home nightvision camera units. You can connect up to four cameras to one receiver. However, we recommend that users only connect up to three cameras to one receiver due to the increased possibility of interference. The receiver has buttons that will allow you to view all 3 (or 4) cameras individually. The number on the camera is also the channel number.

  • If I already have a home security system that has powerful alarms (one that even has an infrared motion detectors), what do I need a video security system for?
Imagine that you are in your home lying in bed, and you feel like looking around the house – just to make sure that everything is in order; or maybe you are living alone and you want to check that the garage is empty before you enter it; or if you are looking for a way to monitor your back yard, or your front porch, or the downstairs living room along side with the nursery. 2P's home nightvision camera system will provide you with that extra sense of safety needed – because there is no reason any of us should feel unsafe in our own home.

  • What is a wireless camera?
A wireless camera has a built-in transmitter that sends video signals to a receiver that can be connected to a TV, VCR or other equipment. No wires are necessary to connect between the camera/transmitter and the receiver.

  • How do I know which are the best locations for my 2P Security Cameras?
Simple: think like an intruder. Did you know that 34% of all intruders come through the front door? Think of the areas in your home you are most concerned about, or the areas you feel are not covered by other security systems and try to anticipate: If an intruder enters where would he get in from and where would he go? What would he look for? Predicting this movement should dictate the cameras' position in the house.

  • I am having interferences in my audial/ visual reception. How can I solve this problem?
There are several things you can try: a) If you have in your home a wireless internet route or a 2.4GHz cordless phone, it is possible that these devices are causing the interferences. You can solve the problem by changing the channels of those devices: A wireless router - you can change the channel from the router's setup.
A cordless phone - if you cannot change channels try to turn off the power from the phone base, and then turn on the camera and receiver to see if it still has interferences. Then turn on the base phone again. Some phones automatically change to a different channel if there is a conflict with another device.
    b) In the rare event of a serious interference, try the following: Place the home nightvision camera where there is the fewest number of obstacles between the camera and receiver. Obstacles include walls, ceramic tiles, microwaves, concrete and even stacks of books, as well as Blue tooth-enabled devices such as laptops.
    c) Change the locations of the camera and receiver. Finding the best location and position requires a bit of trial-and-error. Moving the camera and/or receiver in any direction, even by a few inches, could significantly improve the reception. Changing the antenna angle and moving the camera around might also help. A small tip: Placing the receiver higher than the camera might do the trick.

  • Is the 2P Security System meant to be used as a stand alone system or to work along side with pre-existing systems?
Either. 2P wireless video security cameras can be used as a simple security system for a shop, office or home – with no installations and no need for changes in infra structure. Alternatively, In a home or office with an already existing security system, our home nightvision camera system offers some extra safety - day and night.

  • Does the 2P Video Security System intervene with a pre-existing security system in the house or in the office?
The 2P Video Security System does not changes or interfere with pre-existing security systems. It needs no special infra-structure, installation or wiring.

  • I tried to connect my camera to a TV in either my store or home, but I'm getting a blue/ black screen or a "snow" effect. What's wrong?
  • Usually a blue/black screen means you didn't select the correct TV mode. Use the TV/Video (AV) button on your TV remote control to select the correct mode on your TV.
  • A snowing effect means the receiver doesn't get a signal from the camera. There are a few things you can check: Make sure that you're using a 12-Volt adaptor for the receiver and that you are using an 8-Volt adaptor for the camera (try it without using a battery). Look to see which channel number is printed on the camera (it should be either 1, 2 or 3). Then select the same exact channel number on your receiver. Use the A/V cable (yellow for video, red for audio) to connect your camera to your TV, and then use your TV remote's TV/ Video button to select video1 or video2 (depending on your TV set).

  • Why am I getting a white screen on my camera?
Wireless video security cameras show a white screen when a strong light (sunlight or other light source) shines directly into the lens and sensor, and overpowers the video signal and Electronic Iris. This does not harm the camera and the picture will return to normal if the light source is changes position. Remember to NOT point your camera directly into any light source.

  • How do I connect my camera to a VCR?
Before connecting your camera to a VCR we recommend that you connect it to a TV first in order to make sure that the camera is working. You need a VCR or DVR (Digital Video Recorder) to record the images you see on your TV. After you've done that, follow the following steps:
  • Connect the A/V cable from the receiver to the A/V input on your VCR.
  • Connect the A/V output on your VCR to your TV's A/V input.
  • Refer to your VCR user's manual to make a recording. In most cases, you will need to select line 1 or line 2 on your VCR to make a recording. Try changing to channel 2 on your VCR, and then pushing channel "-" on the remote. When you can see the image on your TV you can push the record button to record.

  • What is the maximum distance I can have between the camera and the receiver?
The maximum distance you can have between the home nightvision camera and the receiver is 300 feet.

Why do wireless video security cameras need an external power source?
ALL wireless cameras need some type of power source. Cordless or wireless means that no wires are needed to connect the camera to the receiver. Our camera's rechargeable battery only runs for 5-6 hours. It is simple to connect an extension cord from any outdoor outlet to supply power to the camera (you can buy a screw-in outlet from your local hardware store for your porch or patio light). The charger is plugged into the extension cord. Just make sure to use electrical tape (available from most hardware stores) to keep water from getting into the connection. Only the receiver needs to be kept indoors.

  • What are LEDS?
LEDS are Light Emitting Diodes. LEDS provide Night Vision for 2P wireless video security cameras.

  • When you say the camera has a certain range in 'open space' what does 'open space' mean?
The term 'open space' means that there are no obstructions, which may interfere with the transmission of the audio/video signal. Obstructions include items such as walls, buildings and certain electronic devices.

  • What is the home night vision camera system's transmission range through walls?
As with all wireless products, the range of the camera system is reduced when transmitting through walls, and will be affected by wireless devices and large objects. We recommend you do a little trial and error to find the camera's maximum range in your house.
